Hockey Day in Hanover

The kids had a marvellous time taking in all the sights and participating in the numerous activities for "Hockey day in Hanover" on January 10th. The silent auction, the activities, the monument, and of course, the hockey games!
Tyke 2 squared off against Tyke 1 in an early-morning, adrenaline-pumped game. Luke Breen was the net minder for this game of buddies against buddies. It was a hard-skating game with neither side willing to give an inch. The Tyke 1 squad opened the scoring early with 2 quick shots, however, Tyke 2’s Joshua Lorenz manoeuvred around several players with some fancy stick-handling to get the team on the scoreboard. Caden Prues was next to put one in the net on an unassisted rebound shot. But the Tyke 1 team came back, digging in to get around the hard-working defence of Keifer Teeple, Spencer Whitehead, Halie Tanner, Blake Walters and Olivia Schlosser. Isaac Wells, Owen Doersam and Joshua Aljoe did an excellent job as enforcers during the game, working hard to keep the puck in the Tyke 1 end. In spite of Joshua Lorenz adding one more goal through traffic in the dying seconds of the game, it just wasn’t enough. Tyke 1 won the game with a score of 5-3. A well-played game by all! Keep up the great work!-submitted by Tawnya Schlosser
