Monarchs Ground The Falcons
Mildmay came to Hanover and ended the Falcons winning streak.
Our Pharmasave Falcons were on an impressive run of wins until they ran into the juggernaut called Mildmay. The first period was a see-saw battle and ended in a 0-0 draw. Then Mildmay turned it up a notch and put the home side on the defensive. 3 unanswered goals in the period left a bit of a hole for Hanover to climb out of. After giving up a 4th tally early in the 3rd, the Falcons struck the back of the net as Matthew Olly Oelschlagel found some room down the boards and took full advantage by bursting in alone on the Mildmay goaltender and burying it to make the score 4-1. This energized the squad and they battled spiritedly to the end trading goals as Mildmay made it 5-1 before Nate Bigfoot Johnston slipped one in assisted by Olly and Tyrell Slick Russell. Final score 5-2.
