Tyke 2 Update
The tyke 2 boys have played three tough teams over the past two weekends and continued to improve and play well despite 3 losses.
On Feb 27th the team travelled to Flesherton for a game. Flesherton always puts a strong team on the ice and this year was no exception. The boy were greeted by thundering music and were pumped up for the puck drop. The team played one of its best games of the season and held the game scoreless until the final 2 minutes shift. Spencer Whitehead was in net and made several great saves. Unfortunately Flesherton turned it up a notch in the final two minutes and scored 3 late goals to take the win. The next day we travelled to Clifford and faced a very big and strong team from Clifford. I think our team was already thinking of the gold medal Olympic game that afternoon as Clifford carried the play for most of the game.
On March 6th the team faced Durham in a very exciting game. The boys continued to pass the puck very well with first period goals by Kyle Ermel and Tyler Bishop with assists to Owen Doersam and Spencer Whitehead. Spencer Teeple played great in net and made several key stops. Kyle Ermel picked up another second period goal and Hanover held a 3-2 lead late in the 3rd period. In a replay of the Flesherton game Hanover could not hold off the final shift surge by Durham and 3 late goals propelled them to victory.
