Novice LL Get First Play-Off Victory
Submitted By Caroline Breen on Saturday, February 13, 2010
The Hanover Pharmasave Novice LL team started their play-off run Friday night against Listowel.  The last time these two teams met, the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

On this Friday night, the Falcons were hungry for the victory.  At the drop of the puck, the line of Dale Leroux, Cam Rourke and Christean VanDepoll muscled it into the Listowel end where Cam Rourke picked up a pass from Dale Leroux and dumped it into the bottom corner of the net setting the tone for the rest of the game.  Five minutes later, Christean VanDepoll broke through the neutral zone and beat the Listowel goalie high on the blocker side.  Listowel answered back with one of their own to end the first period.  The second and third period were all Hanover.  The defensive core of Nathan Oelschlagel, Blake Walters, Luke Breen and Brody Weber chased a number of Listowel attackers down as they tried to sneak behind them in the neutral zone.  For the Listowel attackers that did get through, Caden Prues was there to shut them down.  Early in the second, Ryan Colquhoun sent a backhander over the goalie.  A little bit later, Adam Knoll picked up a loose puck and found the back of the net.  Adam Knoll then made a nice diving play to poke the puck ahead and send Keifer Teeple in on a break-away where he went five hole for the goal.  The scoring didn't stop there, as Cam Rourke added his second, Dale Leroux drilled a hard wrist shot off the post and in and then Ryan Colquhoun went top corner from the side of the net.  Excellent start to the play-offs!  Keep up the great work.

Coach Chris
