McDonald’s Novice Reps take on Shallow Lake with Shallow Bench
On January 9th, 2010 the Hanover McDonald’s
Novice Rep Falcons travelled to Shallow Lake with only 7 skaters and their goalie
Kieran Chittick. Kieran was sporting his new goalie helmet and was unparalleled
despite little work.
It was a slow start to the game but the boys continued to play a team style game with many heads up passes which finally started to pay off with 3 goals in the first period by Dawson Fahrer, Braydon McDiarmid and Tyson Lina. The second period the boys dominated their opponents with some very pretty passing plays and smart positional hockey all the way around. Only one goal was scored by Dale Leroux on a breakaway assisted by Nathan Ahrens. Tyler Freiburger played quarter back throughout the game with many picture perfect first passes out of the defensive zone to start many offensive rushes and played a solid defensive game.
The flood gates opened in the third period with some excellent play making by Tyson Lina. Joshua Lorenz started the flood and then Nathan Ahrens continued the momentum with two goals assisted by Dawson Fahrer and Tyson Lina. Tyson Lina scored another and then Nathan Ahrens scored 3 more goals in a minute and fifteen second to round out the scoring for the game with an assist going to Tyson Lina. The final score 11-3.
