Hanover continues to roll on against Teeswater
Submitted By Steve Fitzsimmons on Monday, March 08, 2010
The Canadian Tire Hanover Falcons continue to play well through the play-offs earning a very tidy 7-1 decision over the Teeswater club in their own rink.  Hanover got off to a good start and were rewarded for some hard work at the 9:51 mark of the first period, when Matt Howie shelved one over top of the Teeswater netminder, with Kody Hammell assisting.

Teeswater had a solid effort in the first period and were able to keep the score close, largely on some strong play from their goaltender, who kept it 1-0 after one period.

Hanover then went up 2-0 at the 11:24 mark of the second, when Colin Spielmacher finished off a breakaway in alone.  They then added to their lead at 7:13, when Kody Hammell fired a missile past the Teeswater keeper, with Matt Schierz and Shay Chittick assisting.

Teeswater finally got on the scoreboard, when they knocked a loose puck past Hanover goalie Ben Klages at the 11:15 mark of the third period.  Hanover immediately responded, when Matt Howie notched his second of the game on a nifty pass from Quintin Graydon.  They then took a 5-1 lead when Kody Hammell notched his second of the game, with Quintin Graydon also drawing an assist on the goal.

Hanover continued to pile it on, when Chase Blackburn went end-to-end and scored to make it 6-1.  Then captain Shay Chittick was rewarded for some good hard work near the net and scored to make it 7-1, with Brook Bross getting the assist.  The game was fairly chippy throughout, with Teeswater drawing the majority of the penalties.  Hanover kept their composure and put in a solid performance.

Now we look towards our next game on Saturday versus Minto, which will decide who will advance through this round of the play-offs and to the WOAA White final.
