Spending lots of time with our Hockey Family
Submitted By Tammy Price on Tuesday, December 08, 2009
Pee Wees come home with a title.

Hanover Pee Wee Reps had a busy weekend in front of them with two tournaments and a league game to follow. On Saturday Hanover's first tournament would be round two of the Legion Zone.  The first match up would be Blyth.  It was very physical game but Hanover would come out on top with a 2-1 win.  Their second game would be against Goderich Rep team.  Hanover wasn't able to get the upper edge and would be put out of the tournament.  This left time for the boys to ride their hockey float that they had decorated the night before in the Santa Claus parade.  The boys would enjoy a little mini sticks on route down Hanover s main street.
Sunday would take the team to their second tournament of the weekend in Harriston, and an early start to the day drawing the 800 game.  The first matchup would be against the hosts of the tournament, Minto.  Hanover couldn't t do anything wrong on the ice, pulling ahead early and not looking back to take the win.  The second match up would be a much less enjoyable game.  Mt. Forest would stay true to their reputation playing a dirty game with the fans to support them.  With 7 min left in the game Hanover coaches would consider pulling their team off the ice because of flared tempers and dirty hits.  Mt. Forest would come up with the win but Hanover parents would be more than happy to have the game over.  The Pee Wee s would accumulate enough points to compete in the B championship.  They would meet up with Minto again for the finals. A strong team effort by everyone would bring a lopsided win and the B championship trophy to Hanover.  Way to go boys!!!!
Monday night Boom s Canadiens would meet Lion s Head and would use the experience form the weekend to play a solid end to end game taking the close win 1-0.  Six games in three days , float decorating, and a parade was a bit of a marathon but our hockey family enjoyed every minute of it.
