5 years Service Category
Chris Prues
Chris is a long-time coach and mentor in Hanover Minor Hockey, who in his 5+ years coaching has helped his players reach their best, while also encouraging them to have fun and enjoying playing the game.
Under his leadership, his Novice Reps squad won an OMHA title 3 seasons ago. He has also been instrumental in Hanover Minor Hockey re-structuring our IP program and has been a guiding force in teaching many of our young players the fundamentals of the game.
Chris joined our Minor Hockey Board of Directors this season as our Treasurer, bringing his tremendous financial background as the Controller of Bruce Power to the aid of Hanover Minor Hockey. “ Chris is without a doubt an amazing volunteer, who has contributed so much to our minor hockey and we are very lucky to have him in our organization.” Said Hanover Minor Hockey President Steve Fitzsimmons.
Jason Rahn
Jason has worn many hats on behalf of Hanover Minor Hockey, from being our IP Convenor, to helping organize a variety of HMH events, including being Co-Chair of the Owen Sound Attack hockey game Committee. He has also been on the Coaches Selection Committee, been a coach himself for several seasons and is Hanover Minor Hockey’s current Vice President.
“Jason has been a tremendous help to me, as we have tackled a lot of issues together and is my sounding board on virtually all HMH related business. He has high level leadership skills and his common sense approach has served the board very well. Hanover Minor Hockey is very fortunate to have Jason in our organization playing a key role.” Commented Hanover Minor Hockey President Steve Fitzsimmons.
Angela Sargeant
Angela has been a long-time Hanover Minor Hockey volunteer, having been our Ice Convenor on two occasions, our organization’s Treasurer, as well as a Team Manager. She has contributed to a multitude of Hanover Minor Hockey events throughout her tenure in Minor Hockey.
“ I have worked with Angela since we were both first-time board members 6 + years ago and she is an excellent board member, who always does her job very well, with great care and has showed her desire to help our organization in a positive way at every opportunity. I was delighted that she decided to re-join the board this season and is currently doing an amazing job as our Ice Convenor.” Said Hanover Minor Hockey President Steve Fitzsimmons.

Cody van der Heide
Cody has been instrumental in helping our organization’s goaltenders develop into better goalies with his help and has actively been a goalie coach, as well as has assisted at practices with a variety of teams for 5+ seasons now. He and his father Dave continue to run our monthly Goalie Clinics for the last 3 seasons, with huge dividends being shown among our goalies thanks to their help.
Many of our young goalies look to Cody as a mentor for them. Cody has played this season for our Midget Reps, as well as being an Afilliate player for the Hanover Barons Jr. C hockey team. He was also selected to play in the Junior C Top Prospects game taking place on November 16th. “Cody has been incredibly dedicated and passionate about helping our young goalies improve their game. I’m pleased he will be recognized by the province of Ontario for his amazing efforts.” Said Hanover Minor Hockey President Steve Fitzsimmons.
