Barons Help With First Strides
Submitted By adam stanley on Thu 11 28, 13
The Falcons First Strides kids were all smiles Wednesday night, as several of the Hanover Barons players came out for a skate and to help with the Learn To Skate program.
Established in 2012 by Hanover Minor Hockey, the Falcons First Strides program was created to introduce young skaters, ages 3 to 6 years, to skating. It is designed to be a catalyst for young children who show an interest in hockey. Skaters are encouraged to wear full hockey equipment and are allowed to bring their hockey stick with them on the ice.
During Wednesday night's icetime, the Barons joined the young skaters in several small area games and aided them up off of the ice when they fell.
"I've never seen my group skate so hard!" said instructor Jason Howes.
The Barons presence with the group was fantastic. They are true role models and show alot of class.
A big THANK-YOU goes out to the Barons Organization for spending their time with the First Strides program on behalf of Hanover Minor Hockey, the First Strides Instructors and most importantly, the skaters and their parents.
Pictures from the evening are posted on the Barons and HMH Facebook pages.
