Elmwood Snow Pitch in Support of Cook Family
Submitted By s.fitzsimmons on Tue 01 14, 14
Hanover Minor Hockey lost one of our own before Christmas, when Peter Cook, father of one of our players (Simon) passed away. In honour of Peter and to raise some funds for the family, the proceeds from this year's Elmwood Snow Pitch Tournament will be donated to the Cook family. The event will be held in Elmwood on Saturday, March 1st from 10am to 7pm and is being run by the Elmwood Chamber of Commerce.
You can get involved and/or help in two ways. First, the snow pitch tournament itself is $125 per team to enter, with 10 players playing in the field at any one time. It is co-ed, with five ladies required on the field at all times.
Teams will pitch to themselves. Three pitch format.
The second way you can help is to donate either money or a prize for the Silent Auction and Raffle that the organizers will run at the event. Already donated are an autographed Joffrey Lupul Leafs jersey and an autographed Daniel Sedin Vancouver Canucks stick, among other things. If there is one thing I've learned as your President the last three years, is that the generosity of HMH families is incredible. We encourage you to help in any way you can.
Hanover Minor Hockey's Board of Directors will have a team entered in this every worthwhile event. Let's all rally and help support one of our own families!
