Hanover Minor Hockey is pleased to announce that Forrest Goaltending will be coming to Hanover on Saturday, Sept. 6th, 2014 & Sunday, Sept. 14th, 2014 to work with Hanover's young goaltenders and to help kickoff the 2014/15 season.
Owner and Head Instructor, Dan Forrest says he is "very excited for this."
Dan has been providing on and off ice goalie training through his own company for the last 8 years. His playing abilities helped him between the pipes for 20 years at various levels, reaching AAA level for most of his minor hockey career. In his draft year he suffered an unfortunate knee injury which prevented him from accepting offers to play provincial Jr A and CIS hockey. Dan pursued his education and studied kinesiology and health sciences at York University. He has now created his own training regiment that he likes to pass on to others who are passionate about playing goaltender. He has been working with various age groups from the select to AAA levels. He believes a good balance of hard work and fun with his students, allows him the opportunity to build good relationships with them to teach many important traits of this unique position. He believes in repetition drills that mimic game situations to help prepare young goaltenders for all areas of the game.
Dan will be bringing Evan Christensen (instructor) with him to help with the clinics.
Evan has been working for Dan for the last 3 years. Evan has played hockey for 15 plus years in the Elora Minor hockey Association, reaching their highest level of AA for most of his minor hockey playing career. Evan is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor. He has worked alongside Dan with various age groups from the select to AAA levels.
Forrest goaltending comes highly recommended by Jamie Isreal of ES Hockey, who has been running bodychecking, powerskating and coaches clinics for Hanover Minor Hockey for the past few years. ES Hockey will also be running some player development clinics for HMHA this season. More details on Hanover Minor Hockey's 2014/15 development program coming soon.
