Police Records Check
Submitted By Krista LeSauvage on Friday, July 29, 2016
PLEASE NOTE that HMH has adopted a Policy that a current three (3) years Police Records Check is required for any individual who is in a position of trust or authority while working with youth (under the age of 19).

It is therefore the responsibility of each volunteer, in coordination with their Team Manager, to ensure that a Police Records Check has been completed and submitted no later than October 31, 2016 to the Secretary of HMH; failing which that individual will not be permitted to volunteer with HMH and that individual will be required to pay the mandatory volunteer fee (which is paid in lieu of completing the requisite volunteer hours) if no other family member is eligible and has completed the stipulated volunteer hours instead. A Police Records Check is mandatory. There are no exceptions. The Police Records Check forms are available at your local police station. You will require a letter from HMH confirming the necessity of a Police Records Check to be delivered to the local police station at the time of requesting the Police Records Check. A letter can be obtained from the Secretary for HMH or through the Team Managers. You may be required to pay a fee to the local police service, if you reside outside of Hanover. You are required to pick up your Police Records Check from your local police service once the search is completed. Completed Police Records Check can then be delivered directly to any of the Board members or alternatively can be left in the lock box at the front counter of the P&H Centre. Please note that individuals with outstanding Criminal Code convictions or charges pending for certain offences may not be eligible to volunteer or hold positions with HMH. Any questions can be directed to a Board member or your Team Manager.
