Sign up now !  Registration for the 2020/2021 season CLOSES September 30, 2020.The season will Start Oct 10/20Greetings Hanover Minor Hockey Families' The Board of Directors appreciates your continued patience as we continue to work with the Town of Hanover, Hockey Canada and the OMHA during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have formed a COVID-19 committee that is working closely with the town. As changes occur, we will try our best to keep you up to date.

We know that everyone has been anxiously awaiting a helpful update regarding registration for the season and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we try to plan for the coming season. As you may know, our ice surface is currently set up as the COVID recovery centre, which has caused a delay to the beginning of our season. We are hopeful that on October 7 we will receive an update from the P&H Center (after they meet with Dr Arra) that will tell us that the recovery centre will be dismantled and that we will be able to proceed with a regular hockey season in Hanover. In the event that this happens, we have been working hard to prepare a Return to Play plan that would include starting our season with ice time in Ayton on October 10th.

IMPORTANT -coaches
We are still looking for coaches for the upcoming season. Please contact Andrew Tilker at [email protected] if you are able to help out.

To get things moving quickly, and to make this plan work, we are asking families to submit cheques or credit card payment information this week so that we can have a commitment from those interested in hitting the ice on October 10. As mentioned above, we will be hosting in-person registration nights on Wednesday, September 30 and Thursday, October 1 from 6-8 pm at 265 10thStreet – Grove-McClement & Fischer law office (beside H&R Block).Atthis time we would not be expecting payment for the entire season, but rather the first instalment of two instalments for the season. The first instalment payment however will include the fundraising fee and the $100 volunteer hours fee. If COVID impacts our ability to continue with the season at any time, we would be looking at ways of refunding what we can from any registration payments.

HMH will be getting ice in Ayton Starting Oct 10/20. We are hoping to Start in Hanover Nov 2/20. This will all be depended on The COVID Hospital coming out. Which we should know Oct 7/20 if it is coming out.

If you are not able to attend either of these dates and are interested in having your kids play this season, please contact[email protected]to make alternative arrangements.

In the event that we hear from the P&H Center on October 7 that the recovery centre will not be dismantled, we will provide a full refund/not cash cheques that were provided at registration if we are not able to offer a season, or if you are not interested in the type of season we are able to offer.

To confirm, we have no reason to believe that we will not have ice available in Hanover on or about November 2nd. We remind you that in the interim, we will have ice in Ayton. Notwithstanding, clearly there is uncertainty as the numbers are rising for COVID in the larger centres. We therefore have been prudent and have been considering other options to ensure that our kids play hockey. For instance, we have canvassed other jurisdictions within our Public Health Unit for ice time, as well as inquiring with other local centres about alternative options, should we be unable to proceed with a hockey season in Hanover. At this time, we are unable to provide further details to you, which we can appreciate is frustrating to you, however, we anticipate that we will be in a position to provide you with definitive information after the October 7thmeeting, once the status of ice at the P&H Centre is known .We thank everyone for their continued patience due to the unfortunate circumstance that Hanover Minor Hockey has faced due to the COVID recovery centre being located at the Hanover P&H Centre.

If you registered your child for hockey this season, we are including you in the count for those interested in playing for the season. If you registered and are no longer interested in having your child play this season, please contact[email protected]so that your registration can be removed from the system. Please do so but Sept 30/20

Our Convener's will be putting teams together of 9 player and one goalie after Sept 30/20 closing date.
