The Hanover Tyke 1 Falcons played hard and defeated the Mount Forest Blacks 4-3 in their 1st game of the Clifford Minor Hockey Cricket Tournament,
Friday, February, 21
st, 2008. Nathan Ahrens scored the 1
st goal for Hanover unassisted, tying it up 1-1. The 2
nd goal for Hanover was the result of an awesome pass made by defence, Kyle Rouslton to Nathan Ahrens bringing the score to a tie once again, 2-2! The action continued with Jack Wells scoring a great goal, assisted by Nathan Ahrens. The final goal was scored unassisted by Nathan Ahrens, bringing the game to a final 4-3 win for Hanover! Goal tender, Kiera Walden focused on keeping the puck out of Hanover’s net with the fantastic aid of the defence. The entire team worked hard throughout the game and their efforts paid off. Great job team!
The 2
nd game of the tournament took place Saturday, February 22
nd against Minto. Working extra hard in net was Olivia Schlosser. She made lots of great saves throughtout the game. Despite the teams efforts the Hanover Falcons were unable to defeat Minto and the final score was 4-8. Jack Wells scored the 1
st and 2
nd goal with an assist by Kieffer Teeple. Kieffer scored the 3
rd goal, assisted by Caden Prues. The final Hanover goal was scored by Nathan Ahrens unassisted. The team played hard and persevered to the end. Great effort everyone!
The 3
rd and final game of the Clifford Cricket Tournament, Hanover Tyke Falcons played the Howick Hornets. The game was a tough one, but Hanover stuck it out, tying the game 4-4. Dale Leroux did an amazing job in net, stopping a number of hard shots from different angles. Goals for Hanover were scored by Tyson Lina (2), Joshua Lorenz and Mackenzie Breckell (1st of the season). Assists were counted for Nathan Ahrens and Tyson Lina. Great passes and excellent teamwork was evident throughout the game. Way to go everyone!
