Falcons Win in Walkerton
Submitted By Dan Teeple on Saturday, December 24, 2011
The Schaus Masonry Atoms were in Walkerton Friday December 23 to play their last regular season game against the Capitals.

The game started with a fast pace, as both teams traded scoring chances in the first period. Some hard skating and good forechecking created the chances for the Falcons but they were unable to put one past the Walkerton netminder in the opening frame. The Capitals had a 1-0 lead after one, heading into the second period.
The goals were coming quick in the second and third period, as the two teams traded goals back and forth until the Falcons were able to score the insurance marker late in the third, giving them a 6-4 victory.
Hanover's offence exploded for 3 goals in each of the last two periods, while the defence did a great job limiting the chances by the home team.
Tyler Freiburger, Braydon McDiarmid, Nathan Oelschlagel and Brody Weber played tough in their own end and were doing a great job moving the puck to their forwards.
Caden Prues was the man between the pipes and had another stellar game making some big saves to keep the game close.
The forwards were putting the pressure on as they were skating hard and beating the opponents to the puck, as well as digging in the corners to get the puck to the front of the Walkerton net.
Scoring for the Falcons were Cam Rourke with a pair of goals, Josh Lorenz had a one goal, one assist effort, Kyle Hamel had the hat trick, while also adding an assist. Nate Johnston was the set up man this game as he assisted on 4 goals while single assists went to Ryan Colquhoun, Brody Weber and the birthday boy, Keifer Teeple.
