Hanover Minor Hockey is delighted that 3 of our teams have won WOAA titles already in these play-offs, with a 4th team playing the 5th and deciding game tomorrow.
Novice LL 2
Our Novice LL 2 had a tremendous season this year, notching a record of 26-3-1 on the season and were victorious in winning their final series against the Goderich Sailors in a best of three by 7-5 and 7-2 scores. They claimed the WOAA Maroon Champions for their awesome efforts! Congratulations to Head Coach Alex Dennie and his staff and players on an achievement that they will never forget.
World Record? Maybe....
Another interesting note is one of Novice LL 2's players, Brayden MacIntosh, scored 3 goals in 10 seconds. A Hanover native, Greg Kueneman previously held the World Record in the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest three goals in a game, which he did in 13 seconds in 1978. The NHL record is 21 seconds by Bill Mosienko in 1952. Guinness stopped keeping track of these types of records years ago, but it's possible that Brayden may have scored the fastest hat trick in hockey history!
Atom LL 1
Our Atom LL 1 team was successful in winning the WOAA Silver Flight Championship, by defeating the Wingham Ironmen two straight in their best of three series 4-3 and 4-3 to take the victory! Congrats to Head Coach Mike Cook and his staff and players on making Hanover Minor Hockey very proud of their achievement.
Novice Reps
Our Novice Reps hockey team won a 2-1 overtime thriller last night in Walkerton, to clinch the WOAA Hodges Consolation Champion title last night. They defeated Walkerton 3 games to 1 in the best of 5 series. Congratulations to Head Coach Andrew Tilker, his team staff and players on an amazing achievement!
Atom Reps
Let's pack the Walkerton Arena tomorrow at 7:30pm, as Head Coach Dan Teeple and his Atom Reps squad play the 5th and deciding game in their series against Walkerton. After losing the first two games, they have battled back to win both game 3 and 4 and keep their hopes alive for a WOAA title! Momentum is on their side. Let's show the Atom Reps our Hanover Minor Hockey support and give them a "home Ice" advantage in Walkerton!
