Baseline Concussion Testing

Why Baseline?

§  It works as a tool to help health care providers track recovery of cognitive processes following a concussion.

§  Produces objective measures to help determine return to play timeline.

§  Provides individualized normative values for comparison if a concussion is sustained.

What is the ImPACT® Baseline Test?

§  ImPACT® is a neurocognitive assessment tool.

§  It is a computerized test that assesses cognitive processes such as memory, reaction time, visual motor speed & impulse control.

Hanover Minor Hockey will be covering costs for all Pee Wee, Bantam & Midget players to complete the mandatory baseline test.

Hanover Minor Hockey is not responsible for any post-concussion care.

Baseline scheduling will be available in late August and will be a first come, first serve basis. Testing dates and scheduling procedures will be sent to the email you provided to Hanover Minor Hockey.

Saugeen Physiotherapy will be running the baseline testing in clinic at the start of the season. Testing takes approximately 1 hour

Saugeen Physiotherapy has 2 concussion trained physiotherapists to assess and treat your athlete.
