Vaccination policies released
Submitted By klesauvage on Thu 09 09, 21
As per the recent OMHA and OWHA Vaccination policies released, HMH is committed to making changes to our programming to allow the safe progression of hockey within our association. If you have a child currently registered in HMH who was born PRIOR to 2010 and DO NOT plan on having your player fully vaccinated by October 17, 2021,

Full refunds will be issued in a timely manner however you will not be able to rejoin programming for the duration of the 2021-2022 season under the current guidelines.  On November 1, 2021, any affected person not fully vaccinated (i.e. including the 14-day period after receiving their completed dose) or who have not been granted an accommodation from the OMHA or OWHA in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) will no longer be eligible to participate in any sanctioned activities until such time as they have presented satisfactory evidence that they have been fully vaccinated or been granted an accommodation. No refunds will be given at this point. All affected persons must present to their Association designate, as applicable, evidence satisfactory to the OMHA and/or OWHA demonstrating that they have received the completed series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine.

There is no action required for players who are currently fully vaccinated or who will be fully vaccinated prior to the identified dates and wish to continue on with HMH programming. Please reference the current OWHA and OMHA vaccination policies for full details including a list of acceptable documents serving as evidence of COVID-19 vaccination. This policy does not presently apply to hockey spectators, including the parents or guardians of players. However, taking into consideration the severity of COVID-19 cases within the OMHA and OWHA’s jurisdiction and any new guidance received, or regulations passed by federal, provincial, and local public health and governmental authorities, Hockey Canada and the Ontario Hockey Federation, the OMHA and OWHA reserves the right to extend this policy to encompass spectators attending sanctioned activities. It should also be noted that individual owners/operators of arenas and facilities may impose their own vaccination requirements for hockey spectators. For information on proof of vaccination requirements for entering The Town of Hanover's recreational facilities (P and H Centre) please contact the There Offices at [email protected]

Vaccination opportunities are available across our region. Please refer to the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit’s website for further information. Please note HMH does not have the ability to grant accommodations to the vaccination policies referenced.
